Chambertin Grand Cru 2013A ripe but distinctly cool and reticent nose displays grudging notes of cassis, black cherry, earth and a broad range of spices that is also trimmed in enough wood to notice. The very dense and serious big bodied flavors exhibit an intense minerality on the overtly powerful and hugely long finish. Note well that this is a very structured, old school and completely backward Chambertin that will need close to two decades to arrive at its full majority.
