Een Leven Lang YoupYoup van 't Hek wilde op zijn twaalfde cabaretier worden. Toen hij zeventien was richtte hij cabaret "Nar" op. Daarmee speelde hij geruime tijd in kleine zalen. Vanaf 1984 zijn de theaters vol. Vanaf 1986 speelt hij solo, sinds 1987 is hij columnist bij NRC Handelsblad en in 1989 gaf hij zijn eerste oudejaarsconference. Inmiddels is hij 27 programmas en tien oudejaarsconferences verder en heeft hij in 2024 afscheid genomen van het theater. Een Leven
